The Science Of Change
Two years ago the conception for the Science of Change was revealed to me during a long car ride to the coast. At that point my work had always centered on theme of the human experience and for a long time I had wanted to bring individuals from my community into the work. I decided to film interviews with real people sharing real stories of change from their very real lives. These filmed interviews became the source imagery for the art work that you see (you can also visit the link under each synopsis to see the full interviews). I chose three expressions from each interview that I felt captured the change I witnessed in each person as they shared their story. I deiced to interpret each of the three chosen expressions in a different media, transitioning the materials from opaque, to translucent, and finally transparent. The physical transition of the materials mimics the emotional tradition of each storyteller. I am overjoyed and humbled to share this series with you! May the stories of theses five diverse and amazing individuals help you connect with yourself and your community.
